✍️📓💻Start of Poetry Contest!

HOME is hosting a poetry contest for the entire month of April! To enter, write an original poem about the importance of housing. Possible topics include: gentrification, rent increases, searching for affordable housing, evictions, discrimination, how finding a home changed your life, how you feel about your home, etc. Then email your poem to Minnie Kim at jkim@homeny.org by 11:59 pm on April 30, with email subject title “HOME poetry contest: Your Poem’s Title.” Poems must be submitted as typed Microsoft Word attachments, in the font Times New Roman or Calibri, in font size no smaller than 10. Poems have no maximum word limit, but may be up to 3 pages long. All pages must be numbered if a poem is more than 1 page long. Poems may be single-spaced or double-spaced. You must include your full name, residential address, email address, phone number (including area code), and poem title at the top of your poem’s first page. Winners will be announced in May and will receive the following prizes:

1st place: $100

2nd place: $75

3rd place: $50
