US Attorney Denise O'Donnell Recalls Her Civil Rights Roots at HOME's Annual Meeting
  on April 5th.  After dinner and a business meeting, Ms. O'Donnell spoke about the source of her commitment to civil rights and her professional career in fighting discrimination.
   
Highlights of Fair Housing Month Events
  in April, including the Affordable Home Show sponsored by Buffalo Neighborhood Housing Services, the Fair Housing Month press conference held at the HUD storefront in downtown Buffalo, Healthy Kids Day, and the first Western New York regional fair housing conference.
   
An Unreasonable Request?
  reports a pending complaint of discrimination on the basis of disability field with HUD against BMHA and a BMHA complex manager.

  in 2000, when Housing Opportunities Made Equal provided individual counseling and services to more than 5000 people, and reached more than 2000 individuals through educational presentations.

  highlights a case of housing discrimination based on the presence of children.  A family who lost their home in a fire was turned away by a landlord who stated concerns about the number of children in the family.
