Fair Housing Workshops

Believing that education is the key to preventing housing discrimination, Housing Opportunities Made Equal offers a variety of educational programs:

  • Interactive workshops for home seekers or anyone interested in Fair Housing. In these workshops we discuss the roots of discrimination as well as the history of fair housing laws and how to identify discrimination.
  • Fair Housing seminars for landlords and housing providers in which they may learn about their rights under the laws, how to recruit and identify quality tenants, and how to apply the laws to all applicants equally.
  • Fair Housing seminars for tenants and landlords to explore the relationship between them and to educate them on their rights and responsibilities as such.
  • In-service trainings for human service agencies and government agencies.
  • Workshops with children and youth in schools across Western New York to plant the seed of fair housing for people of all ages.
